All-CSS Templates

This home page and second-level page template design should be used when creating University of Minnesota Web sites.

Graphic header note: When using the 760 pixel wide graphic header size on your home page, use the same 760 pixel wide graphic header on your secondary pages.

This all-CSS design is based on the original template design with the following exceptions:

  • The pages use a background image with a gray lines or background colors that visually separate the navigation area from the body of the page and create the look of columns within the body of the page.
  • Two options for creating columns in the body content are offered in the screen.css style sheet—one makes gray lines on either side of the right column content, the other puts a background color behind the right column content.
  • The text size is relative instead of fixed, allowing users to increase or decrease the size of the text on the page.

Faux Columns

This layout uses a background image to make gray lines between columns.
